Exploring Flat Lay Photography: FREE First Module

This is a FREE flat lay photography module all about 'LOOKING' ; a first step into flat lay photography and one of the most vital elements. It's a 10 page pdf packed with loads of my colourful photography, plus exercises designed to help expand your ways of seeing and looking. 

Each module has a PDF with a unique video link plus a link to an audio recording of the module itself.

There aren't any 'quick tips' or 'easy hacks' in there, because that's not how I work and learning how to flat lay takes time, experimentation, practice, patience and play. I have written a 10 module programme which focuses on deeper looking, because flat lay arranging is basically a looking meditation. You can pick and choose, one module at a time and in any order, deciding for yourself which modules you want to focus on for either a week, a month, or a season etc, or you can buy them as a bundle and work through all 10 in your own time, with absolutely no pressure.

You may prefer to work through the modules on your own and in your own way, but you can always buy a 50 minute 1:1 with me whenever you like, as you might want to talk through some issues, want my feedback on work you've done, help you with an arrangement or even some editing. I also offer the option of a recorded critique, for work you've created on a module, if you feel that would be helpful. And if you just want to get on with it and don't need me there at all, that's completely fine too.

The modules are the building bricks you need to create interesting, artistic and robust flat lay photographs which you can then use for either your business, as part of your art practice or simply as a creative meditation.

There isn't one magical way to flat lay because actually the ability to create them lies in a build up of skills, in particular honing your observations and then practicing over and over again using different focuses, objects, inspirations, colours, textures, senses, rhythms, patterns, shapes, shadows, reflections and much more.

This FREE  'Looking' module is like a taster for the other modules and gives you lots to think about as well as practical exercises with many different permutations and outcomes. There is a link within the pdf to a video where I use one of the exercises in the module to collect inspiration, demonstrate how I create a flat lay and then show you how I edit the photograph . And there is also a link to an audio recording of the module so you can listen to it on the go.
