Exploring Flat Lay Photography: TEXTURE Module

This is a flat lay photography module all about 'TEXTURE' and is a 10 page pdf packed with loads of my colourful photography to inspire you, plus exercises designed to help expand your ways of seeing, looking and using colour within a flat lay context. 

Each module has a PDF with unique video links to module related exercises, including a demonstration of creating a textural flat lay, an editing talk through, and a texture inspiration reel, plus a link to an audio recording of the module itself in case you're someone who prefers listening to reading.

There aren't any 'quick tips' or 'easy hacks' in there, because that's not how I work and learning how to flat lay takes time, experimentation, practice, patience and play. I am writing a 10 module programme which focuses on deeper looking, because flat lay arranging is basically a looking meditation. You will be able to pick and choose, one module at a time and in any order, deciding for yourself which modules you want to focus on for however long you need; a week, a month, or a season etc.

You may prefer to work through the modules on your own and in your own way, but you can always buy a 50 minute 1:1 with me whenever you like, as you might want to talk through some issues, have some feedback on work you've done, or have direct help with an arrangement or even some editing. I also offer the option of a recorded critique, for work you've created on a module, if you feel that would be helpful. And if you just want to get on with it and don't need me there at all, that's completely fine too. Please send me a message if you would like any of these options.

My modules are the building bricks you need to create interesting, artistic and robust flat lay photographs which you can then use for either your business, as part of your art practice or simply as a creative meditation.

There isn't one magical way to flat lay because actually the ability to create them lies in a build up of skills, in particular honing your observations and then practicing over and over again using different focuses, objects, inspirations, colours, textures, senses, rhythms, patterns, shapes, shadows, reflections and much more.
